Debut self-released cassette from Chicago newcomers Running featuring memebers of local acts Parsley Flakes and Piss Piss Piss Moan Moan Moan. Six blown out punk/bum-out jams that hint at a lot of whats currently going on in that scene i.e. Fresh Meat, Drunkdriver, Slavescene Etc. Check em out!

Pajo - Scream With Me (2009)

David Pajo was the guitar player of Slint and then went on to play and record with bands such Tortoise, Royal Trux and a bunch more as well as solo projects under different monikers. Scream With Me is his most recent effort collecting 9 covers of The Misfits turned into soft, finger picked acoustic cuts. The combination of the acoustic guitar, lo-fi recording and vocals give the songs a very creepy vibe and make for an interesting listen.
Good fall music

Darker My Love - S/T (2006)

Darker My Love are a band that I feel like I'm always listening to. This is the debut LP from the LA based 5 piece featuring ex-members of The Nerve Agents and The Distillers. Don't let their previous acts fool you if you're not familiar with DML. This is straight up psych-rock. Really great stuff that I keep on heavy rotation. GET FAMILIAR

Drunkdriver - Knife Day 7" (2009)

More of the same but maybe a bit more honed and perfected.

Drunkdriver - Born Pregnant (2008)

Disgusting noisy rock (I guess?) from this NY three piece but I mean disgusting in a good way. A drummer and a guitar player making riffs and noise sound like a wall of something hideous and awesome while the singer sounds like a maniac on his worst day.

Fresh Meat - Leather Daddy 7" (2009)

Second 7" from the Allentown, Pennsylvania act. Negative weirdo bum-out shit along the lines of Flipper, Black Flag and Pissed Jeans. Awesome stuff!

Debut 7" from Pittsburgh's Slices. Fucked up noisy hardcore, shit is awesome. I seriously can't stop listening to this.

Disappears - Live Over The Rainbo (2008)

Live session recorded in the drummers apartment above the Chicago bar The Rainbo Club and features members of The Ponys and Boas. It has all the songs from both 7"s plus more. Fuzzed out stoned rock that's heavy on the reverb. Good stuff!

New Moscow Olympics Song (2009)

This is a new song by one of my favorite new bands. The song is called "The Farthest City." Taken from a split 7" with The Morning Paper. If you do not have the Moscow Olympics LP "Cut the World" find it immediately. They basically sound like early New Order. (new link)
